You will gain the knowledge to understand how Medicaid can impact real estate ownership. Adding a joint owner or transferring property can prevent Medicaid qualification, and estate recovery can leave the family without any real estate interests. Such knowledge will allow Realtors to identify problems when their clients are selling houses to pay for nursing home cost, transferring ownership to a family member, and prevent other misunderstandings regarding Medicaid and real estate ownership interests.
